“Limited” damage after a fire at the Château de La Noue, in

A fire broke out this Sunday, December 15, in the middle of the afternoon, at the Château de La Noue, in . “When we arrived, smoke was escaping from the entire roof,” indicated the group leader of the firefighters who came to manage the rescue operations at the head of eighteen firefighters from the Vierzon and Foëcy barracks. Eighteen firefighters and four vehicles were mobilized to contain a fire which had started on the second floor of a building located at the entrance to La Noue park, within the nursing home of the same name, which depends on the hospital center of Vierzon.

“There was little impact on the building”

The firefighters were alerted around 3:30 p.m. Shortly after 5 p.m., the fire and smoke were under control. Firefighters threw some debris out of the window to prevent the fire from resuming. More fear than harm in the end. “The fire started in pieces of wood over around twenty square meters,” added the commander of the rescue operations. “The frame was slightly affected, but, overall, there was little impact on the building.”

The origin of this fire is currently unknown. The Château de La Noue is unoccupied and has suffered the ravages of time for a long time. The electricity was out.

Both on call, Maryvonne Roux, deputy mayor in charge of health and youth, and Catherine Vandermersch, administrator of the hospital center, admitted to being “reassured”.

Note that the pavilions for dependent elderly people hosted at La Noue are quite far from the castle.
