For several years, the commune of Eycheil has participated in the departmental competition for “Villes et Villages Fleuris”. On November 28, it won first prize in the category of municipalities with 301 to 1,000 inhabitants.
The flowering of the village, desired by the municipality, has undergone a major transition towards an ecological approach, marked by several initiatives praised by the jury: definitive abandonment of all phytosanitary products, use of perennial flowers that use less water, recovery of gully water, grassing of the cemetery, pruning with grinding and recovery for mulching…
The maintenance of these facilities is carried out by the agents in charge of green spaces, under the supervision of Patrice Pujol, responsible for technical services. Over the years, the latter has carried out in-depth reflection to achieve these objectives.
Passionate and attentive to the living environment of his village, he took charge of the design of these innovative practices. The jury, impressed by his know-how, requested the presence of Patrice Pujol, alongside the mayor, during the awards ceremony. This annual competition also invites residents to get involved in beautifying the village, thus strengthening a collective effort in favor of a harmonious and sustainable living environment.
