The incredible story of Íñigo Llopis, gold medalist at Paris 2024, who competes in Asturias: ‘I started swimming thinking of returning to football’

Íñigo Llopis (San Sebastián, 1998) is one of the main attractions of the XI Open International Mareastur, which takes place from yesterday until today in the swimming pools of Parque del Oeste, in the capital of the Principality. Winner of three medals at the Paralympic Games, including a gold at 2024, Íñigo, who was born with a shorter femur and missing right arm, is the son of Real Madrid goalkeeping coach Luis Llopis. He fell into swimming almost by accident.
