Traveling against FC Annecy, FC Metz was unable to find the fault and will have to settle for a draw (0-0). The Garnets miss the good operation but maintain their momentum started in November.
The last meeting of Ligue 2 BKT is far from being a gift for FC Metz. After 45 minutes, it was difficult to exist for the Garnets. If the score remains goalless, it is partly thanks to Alexandre Oukidja, decisive against Vincent Pajot (6th) or even Djovo (14th). Opposite, the Metz attack, which benefited from the return of Cheikh Sabaly up front, in place of Simon Elisor, did not hit the mark in the first act. The first opportunity in Metz will have to wait until the first twenty minutes with Papa Amadou Diallo’s header, off target (19th). Morgan Bokele imitated him in the finish after a race which he has the secret to on the left. While he crossed into the axis, the shot from number 19 did not hit the mark (22nd). Far from being reassured, Stéphane Le Mignan had to face another problem: the injury of Jessy Deminguet, replaced by Alpha Touré (32nd).
An ineffective boost
The second half was less bad, without being exciting either. However, both teams claimed their penalty. Stéphane Le Mignan made changes and was able to see his team’s slight boost. Before that, Alexandre Oukidja scored again against Djoco after a poor recovery from the Metz defense (61st). Cheikh Sabaly missed the target again despite the good work of Gauthier Hein and Papa Diallo (66th). Entering the game, Joseph Mangondo also missed against Escales (83rd).
In the end, FC Metz missed the right move in the standings for this last match of the year in the league, but maintained the momentum maintained since November. There will still be one more meeting before the holidays, in the Coupe de France.
