Friday December 13, a man was found dead in Bussières-les-Belmont, associated commune of Champsevraine. The Chaumont public prosecutor's office has opened an investigation into homicide.
A man was found dead at home in Bussières-les-Belmont on Friday December 13, confirms the public prosecutor of the Chaumont judicial court Denis Devallois.
The investigation is entrusted to the Langres Research Brigade.
“A suspect is currently in police custody,” said the magistrate this Saturday morning, December 14. Saturday evening, it indicated that it was extended.
The suspect is a young man of 25, with “a marginal profile”. Personnel from the gendarmerie surveillance and intervention squad (PSIG) were called to carry out his arrest, “a classic procedure”, declares the prosecutor.
Last Thursday, November 28, after a fire destroyed a house, the gendarmes arrested a 25-year-old individual who admitted to being behind it, pleading that it was involuntary. “The person in custody was involved,” replied the magistrate.
The victim was 59 years old. An autopsy will be performed this Sunday.
In the village, this resident is described as an uneventful, “very respectful” man. He was also known to be in a precarious situation. The day before the tragedy, a resident had left him a package of food in front of his home.
