This afternoon, a fire broke out in a house located on Avenue du Maquis in Payolle.
Snow and fire, two opposing but sometimes complementary elements. This was the case in the chronology of certain Upper Pyrenees this Saturday morning.
On December 14, a snowy morning in La Mongie marked the start of the snow season for winter sports enthusiasts. Then going back down the eastern slope, for the many motorists joining Bagnères-de-Bigorre and the Adour valley, the strange smell of burning, as well as the distant then approaching vision of opaque smoke at the edge of the road called out.
About thirty meters from the Citroën garage, located at the southern entrance to the spa town on avenue du maquis de Payolle, a house had just caught fire, alerting local residents around 2 p.m.
Information is still incomplete regarding the circumstances of the accident, but we will keep you informed as soon as possible. In the meantime, it is recommended to remain cautious around the area affected by smoke.
