La Poste will charge more for sending letters and parcels from January 1, 2025. Current rates will be increased by 6.8% on average.
Who says January, says resolutions but also… increases. As of January 1, 2025, prices for sending letters and parcels by La Poste will increase by 6.8% on average. These price adjustments
“are intended to cover losses linked to the drop in mail volume and inflation”
indicates the French administration on its official website.
The price of the green letter stamp will increase by 10 cents compared to 2024. It will be 1.39 euros. To send a services plus letter, the cost next month will be 3.15 euros, compared to 2.99 euros currently. Increase also for the international letter (20 grams), which goes from 1.96 euros to 2.10 euros.
More than 5% increase for Colissimo
Sending a registered letter (20 g) will be billed at 5.74 euros compared to 5.36 euros in 2024. The prices of the red e-letter (1.49 euros) and the “tracked” sticker (0.50 euros), as to them, do not evolve. Colissimo sent by individuals see their prices increase by 5.2% on average. This concerns packages sent in France and internationally.
This price increase should allow
“to ensure the sustainability of the universal postal service with high quality in a context of inflation and falling mail volumes, and to continue to respond to the uses and needs of its customers while reducing its carbon footprint”
according to La Poste.
