For several days, users of the departmental road 58, linking Buxeuil to Dangé-Saint-Romain, have been able to see a strange ride performed by strange machines, generating some traffic difficulties and requiring an alternation. This involves work enabling connection to the gas distribution network of the future agricultural methanization site of Neuilly-Le-Brignon (37), which, in the future, will supply Buxeuil and Dangé-Saint-Romain. It was therefore necessary to link these two municipalities. “This network responds to a need to strengthen the gas network linked to the Neuilly-le-Brignon (37) methanization unit project, explains on site Valérie Lafosse, local authority advisor for Gaz Réseau Distribution France (GRDF) Nouvelle-Aquitaine. This methanizer will produce green gas from the end of 2025 and will supply the town of Descartes (37). The surplus can thus be sent to other consumption areas, particularly during the summer period, such as Buxeuil, then Dangé-Saint-Romain. »
Reduce environmental impact
To carry out this work, which is approaching a million euros investment, GRDF called on the company, Télélec Réseaux. The latter innovated by using a process that reduces environmental impact: wrapping. “The main source of greenhouse gas emissions from a gas pipe laying site is, for 45%, the excavation and embankment that it generates, explains Brahim El Khallaoui, agency head of Télélec Réseaux. The wrapping technique consists of avoiding laying out the excavation bottoms with sand by covering the polyethylene pipes with a highly resistant geotextile sheath. The pipes are thus protected from stones present in the ground. In addition, a tracer wire is integrated into the sheath, allowing its geolocation. »
This work will continue until the end of next week. It will then resume from January 6, with the carrying out of directional drilling to pass the gas network under watercourses or the roadway until the end of February 2025.
