The average tax bill for the residential and commercial sectors will be frozen in 2025 in Lac-Beauport despite the explosion in the value of buildings in the latest assessment roll.
Elected officials recently adopted a budget of $23.35 million, up $770,000 from the previous year.
By reducing the rate of the general property tax, the Municipality considers that it has succeeded in canceling the impact of the very significant jump of 39.4% in the average value of buildings in its assessment role for the next three years.
Variations could be noticed for buildings whose value has experienced a more marked increase.
This is the case for vacant lots, cabins and vacation homes, which have seen significant increases in their value.
Rates for water and sewer services, residual materials and lighting will also be frozen. Only the management of septic systems increases to take into account the real cost.
Last year, citizens absorbed a municipal tax increase of 9.4%.
