The Dijon Natation Alliance has been competing since last Thursday in the French junior short course championships near Massy. An event which saw the young people of Dijon reach the podiums several times.
The icing on the cake, this Monday evening, Yael Klioutchko won the national title in the 200m backstroke (15 year old category) in 2'04''10. Gold which is added to two silver charms on the 50 and 100 m backstroke. “He’s a kid who has talent and who has progressed well. He gained confidence during the competition. Between the beginning and the end, he transformed. He was in good shape, for him, these were successful championships,” appreciates his trainer Ramzi Mekhmoukh.
“Successful championships”
The swimmer Daphné Mélis was able to shine in the 100 m and 200 meters by winning bronze then silver (18 year old category). “She had been French champion in short course for two years, we would have liked to keep the title, but a swimmer from the French team (Giulia Rossi-Bene) entered the breaststroke. But it remains positive, making podiums in France is not given to everyone,” observes Ramzi Mekhmoukh.
Eva Buatois also distinguished herself by reaching the A final four times for four races, winning silver in the 50m backstroke (15 year old category). “She won her first medal by setting a good time (28”74),” appreciates the Dijon coach.
In the last race of the program in Essonne, the 200m backstroke, Bérénice Fortier took bronze (15 year old category)… just ahead of her colleague Eva Buatois. “With seven medals, these are successful championships for a great generation,” concludes Ramzi Mekhmoukh delighted.
