Saturday December 7, 2024, as for many years, the municipality of Françay was the first of the 43 municipalities of Agglopolys to inaugurate the season of greetings to residents.
In the presence of Christophe Degruelle, president of Agglopolys and Yves Lecuir, departmental advisor, Viviane Dabin, mayor since 2020, presented Major Deslandes who commands the community of brigades of Veuzain-sur-Loire and Constable Leroux, referent of the commune, as well as Lionel and Valérie, the two new municipal employees.
Demographically, the town currently has 282 inhabitants, has seen the birth of two children, celebrated a marriage and a civil partnership, three people have died, including the two centenarians of Françay.
Projects of the year
The Francillons and Francillonnes were able to see, among other things, the installation of new street lamps on rue de Beauce and rue du Corbelé as well as the renovation of the heating system of the association hall and the installation of a defibrillator, as well as the construction of a path pedestrian along D108. But also, a convivial space created by Lionel and the Vendôme agricultural high school, combining a small fitness trail and a wooded area on the communal land behind the cemetery.
Among the projects, Viviane Dabin announces the creation of a workshop for the municipal agent in a garage recently acquired by the municipality as well as the installation of protective mesh on the stained glass windows of the church to compensate for the lack of good citizenship among thugs.
Copper telephone lines doomed to disappear
The mayor also strongly encouraged residents not connected to fiber to take the necessary steps by checking their eligibility and then contacting their internet operator for a connection. All procedures must be carried out before March 2025 to maintain free access, it is also recalled that telephone lines traditional copper are doomed to disappear soon.
