The couple’s son hospitalized

The gendarmes quickly deployed on site in this residential area and found the young man, 24 years old. The suspect was injured, was hospitalized and has not yet been able to be questioned. The area was cordoned off. No details yet as to the circumstances.

In the suburban neighborhood, this family’s neighbors are in shock even though they were discreet and few really knew them. “I had seen the gentleman once or twice, he was rather strong and I had seen her too but I didn’t know them that much. I learned that there were these homicides on Challans’ Facebook“, explains André to France Blue Loire Oceanencountered this Monday late morning in this neighborhood.

At the end of the road where the tragedy took place, the house is still sealed. The white sliding shutters and the garage door are closed. “I saw that there were three police cars and two ambulances, one was blocking my driveway“, says Mathieu who lives just opposite the scene of the tragedy.

This resident of Challans did not know this family. “It’s true that we wonder what could have happened for this young person to kill his parents who were elderly but we don’t know and we will probably never know.“, he continues. A little further on, Cécile, who has lived in the neighborhood for twelve years, does not hide her amazement. “This is the first time this has happened but we didn’t know this family. It’s shocking especially when it happens close to home, afterward we don’t know what happened“.
