On Saturday December 28, at 9:05 p.m., France 3 will unveil a new opus of its successful collection “Murders at…”. This time, it offers a dive into the mystical universe of Puy-en-Velay. Here are three good reasons not to miss “Murders in Puy-en-Velay”, directed by Laurence Katrian.
The city is, in each episode, one of the major assets of this series of fiction. This time, it is Puy-en-Velay which serves as the setting for this thriller. Its strengths? Its picturesque streets, its unique architecture and its emblematic sites…. but above all its legends. Particularly that of the “Stone of Fevers”, a real central element of the plot. It is this legend which inspires the scenario of the TV film, with Puy-en-Velay as the setting. “The sets were really superb, very original thanks to the unique architecture of the city,” confided Antoine Mazan, sound engineer, during filming. “The Virgin, the height… There are two floors in this city!”
In this TV film, Gaëlle Bona plays Marion Cazale, a 30-year-old police lieutenant. This character is both heroic and fragile: Marion, diabetic since childhood, is losing her sight, a suffering that she hides from those around her. At his side, Thomas Jouannet plays Martin Jimenez, a captain with a strong character, a little rebellious. “He comes from the Parisian PJ, he is a little jaded to find himself transferred to a less prestigious place. He looks down on everyone a little and he will realize that he is very wrong”; explained the actor a few months earlier.
The story begins when, during a freezing night, Marion Cazale goes to the “Stone of Fevers” to make a wish. There she discovers the corpse of a young woman, lying as if asleep. But the autopsy cannot determine any obvious cause of his death. What secret was this young woman hiding? Why had she come to pray on this sacred stone? A captivating mystery that will quickly push the heroine into a quest for truth, but also into a personal fight against her own illness, which she hides from those around her, even from her boyfriend.
Between mystery, revelations and personal quest, don't miss this fiction this Saturday, December 28 at 9:05 p.m. on France 3, or in streaming on france.tv.
