The Montreal City Police Service (SPVM) is investigating a suspicious fire overnight from Thursday to Friday in a business in Dollard-des-Ormeaux, in the west of the island.
Police received a 911 call around 1:30 a.m. for a fire that broke out in a business located on SunnyBrooke Boulevard, near Kingsley Street.
When the police arrived on site, firefighters from the Montreal Fire Safety Service (SIM) were trying to control the flames.

No one was injured during this event, but the damage suffered by the building was significant, said SPVM spokesperson Anthony Dorelas.
According to initial information, at least one suspect was seen leaving the scene after the start of the fire, said the SPVM, which did not report any arrests.

Given the suspicious nature of the fire, the investigation was transferred to the arson section of the SPVM which will have to shed light on this fire.
Investigators will travel throughout the day to collect evidence and try to determine the exact circumstances surrounding this event, it was added.
