Christmas is here!

ENTERTAINMENT. The Christmas festivities promise to be rich and varied, from Friday, then throughout the weekend, in the historic center, but also in the suburbs. With, as a launching pad, the inauguration with great fanfare of the brand new Place Diderot.

Langres is adorned with its Christmas colors. The decorations and illuminations have been in place since the end of November, the businesses are in tune and, little by little, the magic of Christmas invades people's minds. Yesterday, Wednesday December 4, Place Diderot, still under construction, benefited from the addition of the latest decorative elements (notably winter flowers). The inauguration, tomorrow Friday December 6, Saint Nicholas Day, of the brand new Place Diderot will mark the launch of the first big weekend of Christmas activities.

From 6 p.m., and after the speeches and the cutting of the symbolic inauguration ribbon, a show will take place on the brand new renovated square: “Variations on the flame”, by the Salamandre company. Finally, a friendly drink offered by the Union of Artisans and Traders (UCIA) of Langres and Saints-Geosmes will conclude the sumptuous evening.

Just one day for the Christmas market

The UCIA will then continue its momentum the next day, Saturday December 7, with the return, from 2:30 p.m., of its famous wheel of fortune, which will be located at Place Diderot. No less than €1,000 in the form of vouchers will be won throughout the afternoon. The City's traditional Christmas market, on the other hand, will ultimately not take place this Saturday. “Due to the unfavorable weather forecast for this Saturday, December 7, in particular with potentially dangerous gusts of wind, the City of Langres has decided, for the safety of visitors, to cancel the Christmas market,” said the municipality. . Sunday December 8, however, is not affected: “The market will indeed take place on Sunday December 8, at the scheduled times, that is to say from 10 a.m. to 6 p.m., in the courtyard of the Diderot college. »

Finally, the associations will not be left out, like the Friends of Notre-Dame-de-Brevoines and the Vallée de La Bonnelle, who will prepare their large Christmas tree on rue de la Parcheminerie on Saturday morning, or the choir Montclair, which will offer its traditional Christmas concert, Sunday, at 5:30 p.m., in the Saint-Martin church.
