A little over a year ago now, we presented in our columns a Firefox extension created by Aurélien Garnier, a developer who, tired of waiting for Apple to decide to integrate the iCloud keychain with the red panda (because yes, Firefox is a red panda, not a fox!) had decided to take matters into its own hands and create the magic extension linking the browser and the Cupertino keychain.
It seems that this little add-on to Firefox has not gone unnoticed, and has reached the big ears of the Apple: since December 4, the GitHub of the extension indicates that all the code and ownership of this app have been transferred to Apple Inc., which supports it internally from now on. The Firefox extensions page has also been updated, with the developer now being Apple Inc., which already offers iCloud bookmarks there.
If some limitations remained in the user experience, some by choice (Aurélien Garnier had wanted it to be as secure and protected as possible), others by lack of access to the necessary resources (password generation was less effective). integrated only in the official Apple tools available on Chrome or of course Safari), we can imagine that Apple will not take long to bring them in line with its other browser extensions.
