The majority of public sector nurses represented by two New Brunswick unions will receive a retention bonus of up to $10,000. This was announced by Prime Minister Susan Holt on Tuesday.
This includes nursing staff from the two health networks, the Extramural Program, Ambulance NB and long-term care homes. Marc-André Vienneau, director of the new Villa Saint-Isidore care home, is happy with the initiative, but in an interview with Martine Blanchard he affirms that challenges will remain in terms of recruitment for supernumerary staff.
« The nurses I work with at my home are definitely happy with the initiative. »
