The debates therefore quickly degenerated. “I tried to play my role in calming things down, but when we were dealing with a player, things went in another direction and there was also tension between the two benches. On one of the actions, one shot was lost, I didn’t see it (but of course on video, Editor’s note)but there were no injuries during this phase.”
Incourt players were visibly too aggressive. “I’m not trying to overwhelm Jandrain, but his players were also very tough in the duels from the start. Afterwards, I recognize that there was no gesture but mainly words on their side. Some of my players did certain things that I will resolve internally because I do not condone violence. In the end, no one played their role and really recognizes their wrongs. And I find that sad for football. ‘we have players who put a little aggressiveness, but to say that they are bad boys is a bit reductive.”
Jandrain filed a complaint with the Belgian Union
The shots that were lost last Sunday are still on everyone’s minds on Jandrain’s side. “I have often experienced tense matches but with positive aggression. What happened is inexplicable and unforgivable, and it is a blow to everyone’s morale because we worked a lot to try to obtain a result and, in the end, we will be doubly punished since we will certainly be sanctioned with a double forfeit score, underlines the coach, Julien Jaspart. We take as much into the story as they do and it’s a shame they don’t take responsibility. Their president mentions sanctions against some of his players. We’ll see ! In the meantime, we have filed a complaint with the Belgian Union because we cannot let this kind of thing happen. There, we will try to redouble our motivation in order to prepare well for the next match.”
It remains to be seen that the Federation will decide the outcome of the match.
