LPHF: The Ottawa Charge wins its first game of the season in front of its fans

The Ottawa Charge defeated the Toronto Scepters 3-2 on Tuesday at TD Place Arena in Ottawa.

Tereza Vanišová scored the winning goal in the third period to give the Charge a first victory this season. The team lost in a shootout against the Victoire de Montréal in its first outing.

Several players had the opportunity to celebrate their first goal in the LPHF. First, rookie Mannon McMahon took advantage of a two-on-one to beat Kristen Campbell between the legs and score a first goal on the scoreboard.

Then, Toronto’s third-round pick, Izzy Daniel, tried twice before beating Ottawa goalie Emerance Maschmeyer.

Then, finally, Jincy Roese also hit the strings for the first time in her career to level the score at 2-2.

Sarah Nurse played a strong match. The attacker scored an important goal at the end of the first period and added an assist on the Sceptres’ second net.

Ottawa will return to action at home on Friday against the Victoire de Montréal.
