The Moroccan team “NexTech” won the gold medal at the finals of the World Robot Olympiad, which was held from November 28 to 30 in the Turkish city of Izmir.

“NexTech” captured gold by securing 4th place worldwide in the “Future Innovators Senior” category, distinguishing itself among more than 400 teams representing 90 countries around the world at the World Robot Olympiad, one of the most prestigious international competitions in the fields of technological innovation and robotics, organized by the international association of the World Robotics Olympiads.

“This triumph crowns a series of successes marked by constant efforts,” said the “LOOP for science and technology” association, national partner of the World Robotics Olympiad in a press release.

And to add that the “NexTech” team qualified thanks to remarkable performances during the national selections which involved 65 teams from all regions of Morocco.

“This feat represents great pride for Morocco and strengthens its position on the international technological scene. It also constitutes a lever to encourage Moroccan youth to become more involved in the fields of innovation, science and technology,” it is emphasized.

In a statement to MAP, Zineb El Amrani, member of the “NexTech” team, explained that her team is presenting an innovative project entitled “Terra Genius”, a robot specially designed to support sustainable agriculture through sowing, monitoring and irrigation.

This project, registered in the “Future Innovators Senior” category, aims to put technology at the service of agriculture and reflects the team's commitment to innovative technical solutions to address environmental and agricultural challenges, she said. .

Note that the Kingdom was represented during this international event, under the theme “Allies of the Planet”, by five teams who demonstrated their skills and creativity.

The competition attracted hundreds of young people from all over the world, who came to compete in the fields of innovation and sustainable technological solutions.

The World Robotics Olympiad is an international competition aimed at promoting creativity and robotics skills among young people aged 8 to 19, while encouraging them to explore science, technology and education in a fun way.
