New images of the attack that occurred last Friday at the Gitti Avishar intersection in Samaria were released on Sunday evening. The sequence reveals in detail the modus operandi of the terrorist, who injured nine passengers on a bus on line 286 of the Tnufa company, which linked Ariel to Tel Aviv. The video shows the assailant stopping his vehicle near the bus shelter, getting out and then immediately opening fire on the stopped bus. The rapid intervention of the security forces present on site made it possible to neutralize him in the moments that followed.
Of the nine victims, three were seriously injured, including the bus driver, while six others suffered light to moderate injuries. Hamas claimed responsibility for the attack.
During the day on Sunday, a joint operation of the IDF, the Shin Bet (Internal Security Service) and the Border Police was carried out in the Palestinian village of Einabus to map the terrorist's house for its destruction. The perpetrator of the attack was identified as Samer Mohammed Hussein, 48, resident of Einabus. The authorities specified that he is a former detainee who served a prison sentence in Israel for terrorist activities carried out on behalf of Hamas.
