Edoardo Bove, young Italian player from Fiorentina, suffered a terrible illness this Sunday during the match against Inter Milan, leading to the definitive end of the match counting for the 14th day of Serie A.
Chilling images. The match on the 14th day of Serie A Fiorentina-Inter Milan was definitively stopped this Sunday after Florentine player Edoardo Bove suffered discomfort, the Italian Football League announced. The 22-year-old midfielder collapsed after 16 minutes of play (score 0-0), appearing to have convulsions, according to television images.
The referee interrupted the match and the two teams returned to the locker rooms. The Italian League then announced in a press release that the match was definitively stopped and would be rescheduled to “a date still undetermined”. Bove regained consciousness at Careggi Hospital, near Fiorentina's Artemio-Franchi stadium, according to Italian media.
This unease has revived at Fiorentina the painful memory of the death of former captain Davide Astori in 2018, who died in his sleep at the age of 31 before a championship match against Udinese.
