AS Échiré St Gelais: 2
Mignaloux-Beauvoir: 1

AS Échiré St Gelais almost got scared this Sunday 1is December, facing his opponent of the day, Minaloux-Beauvoir. It was a ball of missed opportunities.

Good at playing, bad at finishing

From the start of the match, the tempo is set by captain Oumar Ouattara, an example of generosity, “grinta” and technicality. He could have been rewarded in the sixth minute but his shot landed in the side net.

During the first quarter of an hour, the domination is Echirean. Many occasions pass by (11e12e) but the Tangos lack in finishing. For their part, the Mignaliens are trying as best they can to loosen the grip to put their fast left attacker, Tom Jorigne, into orbit.

But tirelessly, the ball returns to the feet of Tristan Lahaye's players. Thomas Ferreira and his friends push to break Mignaloux's lock but to no avail, the scoreboard remains blank.

A more prolific second half

Returning from the locker room, AS Échiré St Gelais gets back to work. They will be rewarded with a goal from Quentin Fillion following a striking action from Thomas Ferreira (1-0, 50e).

As time passes, Echirean's game becomes messier and less rhythmic while the coach, Tristan Lahaye, would have wanted to “kill” the match to protect himself from a comeback from the opponent.

The much feared scenario is coming true. After losing the ball in midfield, Mignalien Constentin Quaresma offers a caviar to Tom Jorigne who with a cross shot leaves goalkeeper Alexandre Largeau no chance (1-1, 78e).

Coach Lahaye shouts on the sidelines and scolds his players so that victory does not escape his team. His wish was granted in the very last minutes of the match. On a harmless corner, Enzo Piaia, alone in the penalty area, scores with his head and delivers his team and the staff (2-1, 87e). A logical victory for the ASESG.
