(Belgrade) Serbian President Aleksandar Vucic denounced on Sunday a “hybrid attack” against Serbia, accused the day before by Kosovar leaders of having “orchestrated” an attack against a water canal crucial for Kosovo's energy sector, rejecting again any involvement from Belgrade.

“Yesterday, it was an attempted hybrid attack, large and fierce, which took place against our country,” Mr. Vucic declared at a press conference, adding that Serbia had “no links” with the attack and that she was conducting her own investigation.
A water channel crucial for supplying thousands of homes with drinking water and for Kosovo's energy sector was damaged by an explosion on Friday evening near Zubin Potok, in northwest Kosovo, a predominantly populated region by Serbs.
The Kosovo government denounced “the worst attack on infrastructure” since the end of the war against Belgrade (1998-1999) and accused Serbia of having “orchestrated” it, which Belgrade immediately rejected.
After visiting the scene on Saturday, Kosovar Prime Minister Albin Kurti said “it was impossible for these acts to have been committed by an individual or an ordinary citizen”.
“Professional organizations specializing in these types of terrorist attacks are behind this. Serbia is the only entity with the capacity, means and interest to commit such acts,” he accused.
“We have no link with that,” the Serbian president reaffirmed on Sunday.
“I am not going to claim today that the attack was ordered by Kurti. The investigation will show [le responsable]because we are also carrying out our own investigation,” he added.
