Gas leak: Geoffroy-Guichard stadium evacuated

A gas leak was detected yesterday near the Geoffroy-Guichard stadium, in Saint-Etienne. Although the pipeline is being repaired, gas pockets persist in basementswith readings above safety thresholds. The SDIS of the Loire intervenes to ventilate basements and limit risks.
Security perimeter
This operation requirescomplete evacuation of the stadium and the establishment of a security perimeter. Consequently, traffic is prohibited on rue de la Tour and rue Guichard until further notice. Authorities are calling on residents and motorists to avoid the area.
