CAs the MR announced, it has been many months since the explosion in the cost of the island was known to certain stakeholders in the matter.
In the House Energy Committee, the third round of hearings on the subject of budgetary slippage delivered its share of revelations. For MP MR Mathieu Bihet, too many shortcomings appear in the management of this project: “How is it that cost analyzes were not carried out upstream and that we are now reduced to setting up a working group to see things clearly? After the Mons station last week, here is another dizzying evolution in the spending of public money which will be passed on to citizens.”
Elia and the CREG have indeed confirmed in committee the future impact on energy bills.
“The MR has always supported wind power development in the North Sea, an essential part of our future energy mix. But we have been sounding the alarm for a long time without it seeming to unduly move the Minister of Energy,” Mathieu Bihet is surprised.
Finally, the MR group emphasizes that these important budgets could also be irretrievably lost if the deployment of onshore connections is not carried out. It is more than urgent to bring this project to fruition to ensure the energy future of our country.
