Disappointment for retirees. On Wednesday, November 27, deputies and senators reached a compromise on the Social Security financing bill. The increase in basic pensions will ultimately be effective from January 1, 2025. But this increase will only be 0.8% for most retirees. And at most, 1.6% for those who earn less than 1,500 euros gross per month.
The CAC 40 under pressure. Since January, its price has fallen by 5%, while the American and European stock markets have recorded substantial increases. The Parisian real estate market is struggling. Only 25,000 apartments have been sold in the capital over the last 12 months, according to Greater Paris notaries. Result: real estate sees its prices drop. The price per square meter in Paris hovered around 9,500 euros in the third quarter of 2024, down 5.5% year-on-year.
