“They have existed here for twenty years. “It’s never been a problem for anyone.” insists Arnaud Charpentier, president of the Vendée Sèvre Autise joint union. These are the basins, or rather the twenty-five replacement reserves created in the department between 2007 and 2019.

Between 2022 and 2024, thanks to the anti-basin movement burgeoning in Deux-Sèvres and which culminated in the day of violence in Sainte-Soline, attacks against infrastructure and the actors of these projects increased. On Monday, November 25, they went beyond belief when the company Charpentier TP, based in L’Oie, was the victim of an arson due to its participation in “mega basin construction sites”.
