The context
Back among the stars! For the Champions League adventure to continue to take on an epic feel, the Mastiffs must nourish it with new emotions, after the historic successes against the two Madrid clubs, then the good draw against Juventus. It is also once again an Italian opponent who presents himself on the road to Lille this Wednesday in the rustic Stadio Renato Dall'Ara: Bologna FC 1909, who have still not won this season in the Champions League. For this duel with the Rossoblù, Bruno Genesio switches his 11 to 4-3-3 with the André – Bouaddi – Mukau trio in support of the Fernandez-Pardo – David – Sahraoui trio.
The match
LOSC approached the match with authority and liveliness, like Matias Fernandez-Pardo who set fire to his right side twice (1', 4'). On his second foray, he found Jonathan David who turned around and struck with a left. It's slightly out of frame. However, it was the locals who opened the scoring. Former Toulouse player Dallinga goes on the counter and deceives Lucas Chevalier with the help of the post (5'). His goal was fortunately refused after consulting the VAR, for an offside position. Lille dominates. From a corner, Alexsandro's header crashed into the post (13'). But the Dogues fail to convert their strong point and the match then plunges into a false rhythm. There is this full-axis rush from Matias Fernandez-Pardo, but his last touch is a little long and he does not manage to get his shot in (40'). Lille deserve to open the scoring. They will achieve it just before the break. On a high recovery, Jonathan David crosses back for Ngala Mukau who tries twice to score (0-1, 44').
Returning from the locker room, the Bolognese tried to respond. Lucas Chevalier is vigilant on a strike from Dallinga (51'), then uncompromising on a header from close range (58'). Two warnings free of charge. There won't be three. From a free kick, Lucumi cuts the ball at the near post and equalizes (1-1, 62'). But Mastiffs are full of resources. Almost immediately, Matias Fernandez-Pardo crosses back for Ngal'ayel Mukau who gives his team the advantage with a flat foot in the form of a double (1-2, 66'). The break is then at the end of the foot of Jonathan David on this new movement of the hard-hitting MFP (68'), who in turn fails to score the third Lille goal (73'). Ayyoub Bouaddi also had the opportunity to kill the match (84').
We won't go any further. LOSC wins in Bologna and signs a 3rd success in the league phase. Lille now has 10 points in the standings and takes 12th place. With 3 matches remaining, Bruno Genesio's men can more than ever consider qualification. The Mastiffs also maintain their fine streak of invincibility in all competitions. Well done gentlemen!
The man
Ngal'ayel Mukau: established in midfield for his return to competition after serving a one-match suspension, “Ngala” opened his goal counter in the Lille jersey (44'). He even scored the very first goal of his professional career for the occasion. And because the performance was not yet great enough for him, the young Congolese neo-international went for his double (62'). A memorable evening.
The cape
The 100th for Lucas Chevalier! The Lille goalkeeper played his 100th in Bolognath match under the LOSC jersey, all competitions combined. An important milestone for someone who is already a French international.
The wink
More than 550 LOSC lovers made the trip au Renato Dall'Ara Stadium. The Club renews its full support for the Lille supporters who were victims of attacks last night in Bologna and wish them the best in their recovery.
