It is a piece of equipment that should make life easier for residents. A recycling center will open in Épinay-sous-Sénart, in Essonne, in the first quarter of 2026. It will take place on rue Jules Guesde in the industrial zone of La Forêt on land acquired by the Val d' Val de Seine urban community.

“This new equipment will allow you to come place different materials, objects or plants there free of charge which will then be recycled or recovered. In this sense, studies are being carried out to study the possibility of creating a complementary resource center,” writes the Municipality in an information note to residents published on its website. This study phase should last eight and a half months. The work can then be launched next summer. Lasting seven months, they will therefore end in the first quarter of 2026 “subject to the results of the soil studies”.

Measures put in place to avoid nuisance

Note that the Town Hall of Épinay-sous-Sénart has “put in place specific measures” in order to “ guarantee the tranquility of the Spinolians living near” this future recycling center. It thus indicates that a green wall “has been added to the specifications to preserve the view from rue de Quincy” and specifies that this equipment “will only be accessible to individuals, and entries and exits will only be made by rue Jules Guesde”.

The Municipality also emphasizes “thatno treatment will take place on site “. “This is a depot and transit site: each type of waste will be sent to a recycling or recovery channel. Hazardous waste, such as paint or electrical appliances, will be stored in secure and airtight premises,” she assures.
