The ex-soldier, now aged 36, was tried on October 1, 2024 by the Orléans judicial court, which delivered its decision on November 26. He then explained in court that he did not feel responsible for the death of the 21-year-old Reunion student.

Two Taser shots
On the evening of November 3, 2013, the gendarmes intervened in La Ferté-Saint-Aubin due to a fight which had broken out on the sidelines of an evening. Alcoholic at the time of the events, Loïc Louise received two Taser shocks, one of which lasted 17 seconds (the regulatory duration is 5 seconds).
One year suspended sentence required
The autopsy concluded that he died of asphyxia after regurgitation of the gastric bolus, following cardiovascular discomfort.
The judges considered that this shot given by the ex-gendarme was a “qualified fault”. The prosecution had requested a one-year suspended prison sentence.
