Bologna thought they would open the score in the 5th minute thanks to Thijs Dallinga, but their goal was logically canceled for an offside position after intervention by the video referee. Bruno Génésio's men were able to find the fault in the 44th minute. A poor Italian recovery allowed Jonathan David to serve Mukau in the area. The Congolese striker saw his first shot saved, but he did not let himself be fazed and victoriously regained the ball to score his goal and allow Lille to be in front at the break.
