No, it’s not with the CFF.Image: keystone / dr
Are you thinking of purchasing the half-fare? Now might be the time, because a brand is offering it at half price. But be careful, it’s not the CFF…
The half-fare for less than 100 francs exists, but you will not find it directly at the CFF. Neither at the counter, nor on the website, nor in the application of the former federal government, but at… Interdiscount.
These are our colleagues from Blick who discovered this astonishing promotion, made on the occasion of Black Friday. And as the advertising of the discounter belonging to the Coop group emphasizes, this is an “exclusive” offer, confirming that you will not find the precious half-price at… half-price elsewhere.
The offer is clear: “exclusively at Interdiscount”.interdiscount
Thus, by going through Interdiscount rather than the CFF, the subscription costs 95 francs instead of 190the same goes for the youth rate, also displayed at 50%: it goes from 120 to 60 francs.
An offer for “a different target audience»
How many subscriptions are there at this price at the Coop subsidiary? Blick tried, in vain, to find out. But what the SwissPass Alliance was kind enough to reveal to our colleagues is the reason why this offer is offered by a brand specializing in electronics and household appliances rather than in public transport:
“This campaign is intended for a target audience different from that of the usual communication and sales channels, with a view to acquiring new customers”
Valentin Abbet, spokesperson for the SwissPass Alliance in the columns of Blick
An offer which will perhaps convince the most reluctant to take more Swiss public transport, renowned for being among the most expensive in the world, as revealed by this analysis of Compare the market in 2023.
According to the analysis, four of the ten most expensive public transport cities in the world are in our country, with Zurich in the lead.
