Lola's murder is one of the news stories that marked the general public. The 12-year-old girl was killed in 2022 by a woman, Dahbia B., who was subject to an obligation to leave French territory (OQTF).
During his appearance in “C L'hebdo”, on November 23, 2024, Christophe Hondelatte discussed the affair alongside Lola's mother, recalling the importance according to him of state medical aid (AME), which would have made it possible to take medical care of a person like Lola's murderer. However, his comments caused controversy, since on social networks, he was accused of having defended the teenager's murderer.

After more than 48 hours of insults and harassment on the networks, Christophe Hondelatte finally spoke this Tuesday, November 26, 2024 in a long message published on X (formerly Twitter). The journalist does not hide his anger, and wanted to address “all the idiots who lynched (him) for 2 days”.
“I took the time to respond to the less aggressive ones, and to argue as much as I could. I tiptoe away for a few days, while the monstrous horde that fell on me finds a another bone to gnaw,” he angrily proclaimed on the platform.
“You won't take away from me the idea that the Twitter algorithm is the mastermind of all this! This place has truly become disgusting. But I won't leave it, if only to keep an eye the bastards who seem to have taken over the place.”
The journalist defends himself
For Christophe Hondelatte, this wave of harassment is linked to the lack of research by Internet users, who were content to comment on a single extract broadcast on “buzz” . A lot happened before this extract. I love this woman, I respect her and understand her.
He also affirms: “There was no animosity between us. And I especially remember that she refused, from the start, the miserable recovery that certain hyper-active zigotos on this pitiful network imposed on her.”
And to conclude, angrily: “It's my turn to ask you to respect Lola's memory, and the courage of her mother, by stopping recovering this tragedy for the benefit of your rotten ideas.”
