Suddenly, stopped at a red light, he sees a gendarmerie patrol carrying out checks at the next intersection. Aware of his irregular situation, the man turns around and storms off.
More than 100 km/h in town
Faced with this suspicious behavior, the gendarmes quickly decided to pursue him and realized that the suspect was driving at a speed of between 100 and 150 km/h in the middle of a built-up area. “The individual ended up stopping, his wife and children being totally frightened,” explains the defense lawyer, Maître Giordana.
Problem, in addition to his irregular situation and non-compliance with his house arrest at his home in Pantin (Seine-Saint-Denis), he drives without a license, without insurance and in a vehicle without technical inspection.
Already convicted
The father of the family, of Tunisian origin, had already been convicted in the past for driving without a license and under drugs. “He had even done a stay in prison in 2021 following an aggravated refusal to comply in May 2019,” continues his lawyer.
Finally, the accused was presented in immediate appearance before the Meaux judicial court on Tuesday November 26. He was tried for driving without a license, without insurance and without technical inspection but also for non-compliance with his house arrest (under OQTF, this house arrest makes it possible to control the preparation and execution of the removal).
Found guilty, he was sentenced to 12 months' imprisonment in the form of a DDSE (Home Detention under Electronic Surveillance).
