George Russell's victory in Las Vegas gave us a sixth different winner in the last six Grands Prix, a first since the 2012 season.
While Mercedes was struggling in recent weeks, the Silver Arrows scored a superb double at the Las Vegas Grand Prix, with George Russell winning ahead of Lewis Hamilton.
This great performance made it possible to continue the good series of different winners during the last races.
The six different winners in the last six Grands Prix
Pilot | Stable | GP won |
---|---|---|
G. Russell | Mercedes | vegas |
M. Verstappen | Red Bull | Brazil |
C. Sainz | Ferrari | Mexico |
C. Leclerc | Ferrari | UNITED STATES |
L. Norris | McLaren | Singapore |
O. Plates | McLaren | Azerbaijan |
A new statistic which testifies to the competitiveness regained in 2024 after a 2023 season crushed by Max Verstappen.
During these last six Grands Prix, the four best teams of the season have all won at least one race. Only Sergio Perez at the wheel of Red Bull and Lewis Hamilton at Mercedes did not win among the drivers belonging to these four top teams.
Lewis Hamilton appears to be the most credible candidate for this streak to continue at the Qatar Grand Prix this weekend. If Mercedes manages to make its car work as well as in Las Vegas again, the seven-time World Champion would then have a real chance of offering us a series of seven different winners in as many Grands Prix.
