9h30: We do not yet know which engine will be used by the Cadillac team for its arrival in F1 from 2026. Indeed, this season, new technical and engine regulations will see the light of day. The teams are authorized to work on it from mid-January but for the moment, GM (General Motors) will not be ready to provide an engine to its team. GM should only arrive as F1's own engine manufacturer in 2028 or even 2029.
According to initial intentions, Honda, which also powers Andretti's Indycar team, would be the logical choice. This would allow the engine manufacturer, which will only equip Aston Martin in 2026, to equip an additional team.
Other possibilities such as Audi or Mercedes are possible but also the repurchase of plans and prototypes from Renault, which has just announced the end of its F1 engine program last month.
