A traffic accident occurred on Tuesday, July 2 at around 9:45 a.m. in Forbach, at the intersection of Rue Poincaré and Avenue de Spicheren. A Fluo Grand Est bus going up Rue Poincaré hit a vehicle traveling on Avenue de Spicheren toward the city center. At this intersection, traffic is regulated by traffic lights. The car was dragged for about ten meters in front of the bus. Both vehicles ended up in the wall of a house. The impact was violent.

The driver, a 42-year-old man, injured but conscious, found himself trapped in his vehicle because of the bent bodywork. He had to be evacuated by the firefighters from the Forbach and Freyming units, who were quickly on the scene, and taken to hospital. Initially considered to be slightly injured, he was reclassified as seriously injured during the morning.

The bus driver, a 58-year-old woman, was slightly injured and in shock. She was treated by emergency services and will be taken to hospital for check-ups. The bus was empty of any passengers at the time of the collision. The driver was alone on board his vehicle. The police were on site to make initial findings and determine the circumstances of this accident.
