The Minister for Ecological Transition and Territorial Cohesion, Christophe Béchu, announced a significant drop in greenhouse gas emissions in France, with an overall reduction of 5.3% in the first quarter of 2024. These results are in addition to the 5.8% drop recorded at the end of 2023.

“The momentum started in 2024 is excellent and must continue to achieve the ambitious targets of reducing greenhouse gas emissions by 40% by 2030,” said Jean-François Loiseau, President of ANIA, regarding this positive trajectory, which is part of the decarbonization roadmap developed in collaboration with the Agricultural Cooperation in September 2023.

Jean-François Loiseau also stressed the need for economic support for small businesses, so that they can continue to invest in sustainable production practices and regain their competitiveness.
