On the night of Friday to Saturday, a young woman was found dead on rue de Paris in Montreuil (Seine-Saint-Denis).
According to The ParisianCCTV footage shows two people on a quad bike: a woman without a helmet at the front and a man wearing a helmet at the back.
Shortly after, the all-terrain vehicle left the road.
“The unprotected passenger violently hits the poles while the man gets back on the vehicle and flees”reports a source close to the investigation to the Parisian daily.
“It is possible that she is mounted in the front without holding the handlebars”
The victim, aged between 25 and 30, led a marginal life and was known in the Bas Montreuil district as a crack user. The police officers from the Montreuil police station are in charge of the investigation.
Although the Paris street cameras provided key elements, uncertainty remains over who was actually driving the vehicle at the time of the accident.
“It is possible that she was mounted at the front without holding the handlebars”indicates the same source.
The driver’s determination will influence the possible charges brought against his companion. “He could be accused of involuntary manslaughter or failure to assist a person in danger”.
As of Sunday, the suspect had not yet been found.
