A provincial prize for Partage au masculine

COMMUNITY. Partage au masculin, a regional organization helping men based in Saint-Georges, but which serves the whole of Chaudière-Appalaches, received the Guy Corneau Hommage Prize on November 16 during a ceremony held at the Manoir D’Youville from Chateauguay.

Created in 2019 by Hommes Québec, this award is given annually to an organization and an individual who has contributed to the health and well-being of men, while promoting healthy masculinity within society. The application of Partage au Masculin was selected because of its actions, initiatives and achievements for men in difficulty in Chaudière-Appalaches.

“We would like to warmly thank the Homme Québec team for this great reward, as well as all the men who, through their courage and openness, accepted that we accompany them on their journey,” underlined Jean-Michaël Dubé- Rousseau, general director of the organization.

Director of the organization, Guy Dubé received the award on behalf of the organization he founded. He recalled that Partage au Masculin had very modest beginnings, having only $800 in its account, three tables and chairs when it opened in 1994.

“People believed in us, and offered us affordable premises and the equipment we needed to open the organization,” said Mr. Dubé when receiving the prize. Today, it has nine service points and helps more than 1,000 men annually throughout Chaudière-Appalaches. Two of these service points are located in Lac-Etchemin and Saint-Gervais, the organization serving around a hundred men annually in each of these locations.

Individual follow-ups, group meetings, conferences and workshops are offered to men in difficulty.
