India: Man declared dead wakes up just before cremation: News

A 25-year-old young man declared dead woke up just minutes from his cremation this week in northern India. Transported again to hospital, he finally died on Friday November 22, reports BFMTV.

Rohitash Kumar was declared dead. However, a few minutes before his cremation, this 25-year-old Indian woke up, reports BFMTV. The young man, who suffered from speech and hearing difficulties, had fallen ill and was taken to a hospital in northern Rajasthan in the north of the country.

The doctor did not perform an autopsy

How could Rohitash Kumar be declared dead if he was not? According to information sent by a medical manager at the hospital to AFP, a doctor allegedly failed to carry out his autopsy. When he arrived at the health facility, he was diagnosed with an epileptic seizure and a doctor declared him dead.

According to the hospital's chief physician, a doctor had “prepared the post-mortem report without carrying out the autopsy”. The young man, declared dead, was therefore “sent to cremation” without further formalities. It is “shortly before” his cremation that his body “started to move” and those present realized “that he was alive and breathing”. Rohitash Kumar was therefore taken to the hospital again. Unfortunately, this time his death was truly noted on Friday November 22.
