Thursday evening, at Place de l'Église, residents were surprised to see a major emergency device deployed in their town. Fortunately, it was only a simulation exercise orchestrated by the firefighters of Minihy-Tréguier and Pleubian. The imagined scenario involved a gas leak from an exterior box coming from a cistern. A critical situation requiring rapid and coordinated intervention.
Test in real conditions
“For Sdis 22, it was a question of carrying out inter-center maneuvers aimed at strengthening cooperation between different units, explained Lieutenant-Colonel Philippe Le Cleuziat, head of the territorial group. The objective being to evaluate the coordination between the workforce and to test the protocols in realistic conditions. »
A full-scale exercise bringing together around thirty personnel, firefighters and gendarmes (Tréguier brigade and PSIG Lannion). Two vans and a command vehicle were engaged, led by Captain Cédric Larribe, as well as Lieutenants Guillaume Guttierez and Cyrille Bizet.
After securing the perimeter, evacuating the homes and identifying the source of the leak, the firefighters contained the fire. The fire was contained before it spread to other buildings. The operator, the company Le Dû, from Châtelaudren-Plouagat, was contacted in order to cut off the gas supply.
On site, Anne-Françoise Piédallu, mayor, and Gilbert Rannou, 1is deputy, were able to observe the progress of operations and salute the commitment of the teams.
“This exercise, beyond its technical aspect, made it possible to highlight the importance of working together, the officer pointed out. A demonstration which illustrates the importance of this type of maneuver. »
