The DFCO continues its very good series. Friday November 22, 2024, the “Reds” won 2-0 against Versailles, and warmed the hearts of the 5,000 supporters announced at Gaston-Gérard, in a freezing cold. This is a fifth consecutive success in all competitions – the third in a row in the championship. A victory which allows Dijon footballers to climb onto the podium for the first time this season, while waiting for the Concarneau match this Saturday.

DFCO made the difference in the first half. From the 8th minute, following a nice opening from Mendy, the decisive defender/passer, Ikanga regained the ball in the opponent's area. With a cross shot, he opens the mark. His second goal of the season in the league, after his double last weekend in the Coupe de France.
At the half-hour mark, the DFCO passed the second, after a combination on a corner. And what a combination! It should be studied in schools of mathematics and geometry. A perfect triangle: Vargas-Rios passes the ball to the near post, Marié volleys back, Chahid takes it and scores. Thank you Pythagoras!
The DFCO then justified its status as the best defense in the division by not conceding a goal despite a good number of Versailles chances in the second half. The “Reds” have not seen their nets shake at home to Gaston-Gérard since… the first day of the championship!
