With interest increasing again in recent years for small Japanese creatures, this Landes family can hope to sell their Pokemon cards for more than 1,000 euros.
Near Auch, in Saint-Vincent-de-Tyrosse, a family made a great discovery while renovating their house. According to information from France Bleu Gascognethey wanted to transform their house into guest rooms. While clearing out the deceased previous owner's belongings, the younger 10-year-old sister came across a large number of Pokémon cards.
More than 1,000 euros which will help pay for the work
To the great annoyance of her little sister who had found the cards and wanted to keep them, Perrine recovered the cards, remembering having already seen collectors' documentaries. She launches an appraisal and discovers that some of her cards date from the 1990s and that they are in good condition.
“When I discussed it with collectors, they said to me: It’s crazy to have found everything like that!” she explains to our colleagues. The most expensive will bring him a total of 150 euros. Once that one is sold, she has more than 300 left, which she also wants to sell.
“For collectors, it truly is a gold nugget. It's not a treasure like a gold bar, but in this universe, these cards are extremely rare.” she adds. She hopes to be able to obtain, in total, more than 1,000 euros which she will reinvest in the renovation work of the house into guest rooms.
