Betrayed by traces of cyanide.

In Thailandthe affair caused a lot of noise.

Indeed, a court on Wednesday sentenced a woman – Sararat Rangsiwuthaporn – to the death penalty, in force in the country. Her crime: she murdered 14 people. According to local media reported by CBS Americans, she would be the first serial killer in the country's history.

It all started in April 2023 when Sararat, 36, embarked on a Buddhist pilgrimage with a friend. But during this trip, her friend died. The investigation thus revealed traces of cyanide in the victim's body.

Capsules

Investigators quickly noted that Sararat's boyfriend died a month earlier, in March 2023.

In total, Sararat has had 14 murders to its name since 2015. While a fifteenth victim survived.

Her modus operandi was always the same: she proposed “herbal capsules” to his victims. The capsules were actually poisoned. She then stripped them: money, jewelry, cell phones, everything went through.

According to our colleagues, Sararat was addicted to gambling. And all of his victims had given him large sums of money before they died. Her ex-husband, a police officer, and her lawyer also risk prison sentences for complicity.
