Daniel Marcadet will sign his latest book, published by himself, on Saturday December 7, between 10:30 a.m. and 12 p.m., at the Mauvezin media library. He will also be present on Sunday December 8, with his two latest works, at the Mauvezin Christmas market, under the central hall.
Daniel Marcadet, former history and geography teacher, is passionate about writing, researching the past and above all sharing. He has already written 5 works devoted to the history of “Hunchbacked Gascony”, then the most recent, a hymn to the countryside and its peasants entitled “Entendez-vous dans nos campagne”.
Today, it is the history of Mauvezin that he delivers to the public, from antiquity to the present day, including the Middle Ages, the French Revolution and the Great War.
This 241-page book, its author has been thinking about it for a long time. It draws on its previous research, but also on the work of regional and local historians and uses numerous ancient and current testimonies which it highlights through multiple inserts. It also evokes the history of the convent which later became the hospice and then the hospital.
Daniel Marcadet is also a storyteller and, at the time of these dedications, he could well tell fascinating anecdotes.
