Anderlecht have decided to cancel ticket sales for the Europa League match against FC Porto, after the club suspected that some Portuguese fans had purchased tickets for the Belgian supporters’ section at Lotto Park.
The club thus took this measure after a “security analysis” and then refers to the regulations in force concerning access to the stadium.
Fans residing in Portugal who purchased tickets for the home supporters section received a message that their tickets would be cancelled. Anderlecht guarantees in the message that the amounts paid will be refunded soon.
The club justifies the cancellations by referring to the rules of the club regulations and emphasizes that the safety of supporters is always a priority.
Anderlecht want to avoid rival fans ending up in the wrong sections of the stadium, which could cause tensions and dangerous situations.
Despite the discomfort for the fans concerned, Anderlecht assures them that refunds will take place in the coming days. The club remains committed to strictly adhering to security and rules surrounding the stadium, particularly during European matches.
