Thursday's strike at the SNCF, called by all the group's unions, is not massively followed, despite recent announcements of moderate salary increases for 2025. To better understand the income of a railway worker, RTL has met Mickael, railway worker for 27 years in Nancy, electrician on the tracks.
With his pay slips going from 2021 to October 2024, he details the evolution of his salary. “In October 2024, my basic salary is 2,208 euros for 27 years of seniority. In October 2021, I was at 1,920 euros,” he explains. In three years, his salary increased by 288 euros. “If we do the math, we do not reach the 17% ratio at all. If Mr. Farandou, CEO of SNCF, wants to increase us, he can do so,” he adds.
By combining all the bonuses for the month of October, Mickael received around 4,000 euros in one monthspecifying that he is on the move all month.
Why did you choose to share your pay slip?
“Often I hear arguments on the radio and TV that we are paid too much. With 27 years of seniority and working conditions where I am outside every day, I find that our salary is not up to what we hear“, explains Mickael.
