No peaceful stroll near greenery. On Thursday, November 21, 2024, Météo France placed Gironde on yellow alert for risks of rain-flooding and waves-submersion and orange for risks of strong winds.
Gusts of wind that could reach 120km/h et 110km/h are expected at Teste-de Buch and Soulac-sur-Mer in the afternoon. They should reach 85km/h in Bordeaux.
Closed parks and gardens
Bordeaux town hall has already taken measures in view of the weather risks. Thursday, November 21, the city’s parks and gardens “will be closed all day,” indicates the town hall on X (formerly Twitter).
The reopening of these places will take place “gradually” on Friday morning.
Tuesday, November 19, Gironde had already been placed on yellow alert for the risk of waves-submersion and gusts of wind.
All parks and green spaces in Villenave-d'Ornon will also be closed.
